Bap of Joseph 30 Mar 1662 at Reed, Hertford, England, son of John & Elizth. Bysouth (ref fmp & IGI).

Marr 28 Oct 1686 at Reed of Joseph Bysouth and Dorathy KNIGHT; Joseph was of Reed, batchr., and Dorathy was of Risden, single, by Licence (ref fmp Image & IGI). Herts Marr Index has Rushden (which is the same place). Bap of Dorothy Knight 23 Aug 1663 at Rushden, Herts, dau of John & Anne (ref fmp image); another document in fmp has Dorothye.

The surname is sometimes written as two words (By South) and this has caused it to be indexed under both versions in different programs.

Joseph is specifed in his father's will in 1685 as the eldest son, Joseph Bysouth to receive 'three cowes'.

Birth of John South 20 Feb 1672/73, bap 23 Mar 1672/73 at Reed, Herts, England, son of John & Elizabeth South (ref fmp image and IGI).

John is specified 5th in his father's will in 1685.
Marr 3 Feb 1698/99 of John South to Mary FULLER, both of Reed, by banns (ref findmypast image). There is a difficulty in ready Mary's surname and some indexes have FULLER but the image does seem closer to FALLER.

There is a burial in Reed of John Bysouth, Church Clark, on Oct 1 1734. His son John Bysouth is listed as Church Clerk from 1734 and it is possible this might have been an inherited office. (Ref parish rec).

It is possible that this is the Mary Bysouth, Widow, who married John Trussell, a Shepherd, on 14 Nov 1736 at Wyddial, Hertfordshire, the same place and 3 years after son John married Mary Bowman. 		IGI records
