In August 1910, the theft took place of a gelding, a set of harness, a nose-bag, and one quarter of a hundredweight of provender, the property of Walter George Camp, and one set of harness and one lamp, the property of William Ilett. The trial of George Johnson and Charles Walter Ingram took place at the Central Criminal Court (the Old Bailey) on 15 Nov 1910. Johnson was found not guilty, but Ingram who pleaded guilty was sentenced to 3 years' penal servitude on each of 3 indictments, to run concurrently. Walter's items were worth 7 pounds 3 shillings. He was described as greengrocer of 58 Station Road, Wood Green (ref Old Bailey records online).

His Memorial Card reads:
"In Loving memory, 'To live in the hearts of those we love is not to die'. Farewell, dear children, this life is past, I loved you dearly to the last, Grieve not for me, nor sorrow take, But love your mother for my sake. " Walter George Camp passed away on the 13th June 1935 aged 65 years. Matilda lived out her days with daughter Minnie and son Albert, at Wee Six in Hockley, Essex. Minnie suffered with glaucoma over the years, which left her in the later part of her life blind. She died 28 Mar 1959 (ref CM).
