In 1882 the licence of the Kangaroo Ground Hotel was transferred from Mr. John Donaldson to Mrs Sophia Greenaway (re Trove, The Argus Thur 29 Jun 1882)
This was renewed in 1883 and 1885.

In 1888 Sophia became insolvent.
"New insolvents. Sophia Greenaway, of Clifton-street Clifton-hill, widow, formerly of Kangaroo Ground, hotelkeeper, now out of business. Causes of Insolvency - Losses in business. Liabilities, £212 13s. 1d.; assets, £10; deficiency, £202 13s. 1d. " (ref Trove, The Argus Sat 19 May 1888).

Sophia died 5 Sep 1918. Death reg of Sophia Frewin Greenaway 1918 at Clifton Hill, dau of Wm Wheeler & Sophia (Frewin); age 80 (Vic reg 8311).
"DEATH. GREENAWAY.- On the 5th inst., at her residence, Clifton street, Clifton Hill, Sophia Wheeler Greenaway, relict of the late William Greenaway (of Heidelberg), and mother of Mrs. R. C.
