3.   Isaac POULAIN
Born 5 Nov 1724; bap 22 Nov 1724 at Threadneedle St French Huguenot, London, son of Isaac Poulain & Jeanne Levesque (ref IGI).
His godmother was probably Anne Magdalen Levesque, his aunt, who married Daniel Rollet; in 1753 Daniel left the following in his Will: "I give to Isaac Poullain my wife's godson the sum of eight pounds."

Married 1748 to Rachel PERIMONIE at Westminster (Spring Gardens, Huguenot), Middlesex (ref Boyd's Marriage Index, seen in
www.origins.net). She was born 8 Feb 1726, bap 6 Mar 1726 at Wheeler Street Fr Huguenot Spitalfields, daughter of Jean Perimonie and Madeleine unknown (ref IGI). Her name is spelt Peromony and Peremone in her children's baptism records.

Burial of Isaac Poulain 27 Feb 1757 at St Matthew, Bethnal Green (ref Ancestry London Burials etc). [Probably - there are two deaths of Isaac Poulain, in 1757 and 1762, and the first probably relates to the son Isaac as he had no more children after this date.]
Isaac died before his mother's will was written on 24 Jun 1764.

In 1767 son Daniel was apprenticed as a Weaver and the papers name him as son of Isaac Poulain late of the Parish of Saint Matthew, Bethnal Green, Weaver.

Marr 29 Jul 1753 at St Katherine By The Tower to James GRINONNEAU. The records states James Grinnonneau Bach. to Jane Poulain Spin. (ref Ancestry Marriages)

James was a Weaver between 1754 and 1770 as shown in the baptisms of his children.

See Generation 4. Jeanne (Jane) Poulain nee Levesque left a Will which was written 24 Jun 1764 and proved 16 Jan 1768 by the oath of Jane Grinonneau otherwise Grinnos (wife of James Grinonneau) the daughter of the deceased and one of the executors named in the Will.

There was also a Peter Grinonneau who married Ann Castle in 1764 and probably had the Peter Grinonneau who married as a widower to Elizabeth Shelton and had at least two children, Ann Jubila in 1809 and Sophia in 1817. The original Peter could have been a brother of James.

IGI records
7.   Jeanne POULAIN
Born 8 Jan 1732/33; bap 21 Jan 1732/33 at Threadneedle St French Huguenot, London (ref IGI). In Ancestry the non-conformist registers have the date as 8 Jan 1733 immediately after a date of Dec 1732, so perhaps they were not following the English dating process.
"Vol 23 1733 - Jan. 21. Jeanne ff. Isaac P. et Jeanne Levesque. P. His father. M. Her mother. Nee Jan. 8" (ref Huguenot Quarto series).

Marr 8 May 1757 at St Matthew Bethnal Green London to Jean Pierre CAZALY (ref IGI). He was born after 1725 at Languedoc Roussillon France, son of Monsieur Cazaly and Madame Margueritte unknown. See CAZALY tree for further information and issue.

However, See Generation 4. The other executor was 'my worthy cousin Monsieur Daniel Guichet' [who may be Estienne Daniel, the son of Magdeline Poulain]. The following people are named in the Will: her "sister Magdeleine Guichet" [sister-in-law]; her "daughter Jane 'Grinnos' or her children and the three children of my deceased son Isaac Poulain". Regrettably, there is no mention of her presumed daughter Jane [Cazaly] and so there remains the query as to how she could have had two daughters both called Jane in their respective marriage records, who both had children at similar times and remained alive after the date of this Will. This problem will not be solved until further documentation is located.

The last child of Jane Grinonneau was 1770; the last child of Jane Cazaly 1779; so this Jeanne would have been 37 or 46 respectively; possibly the one who married Jean Pierre Cazaly could have been a younger Jane Poulain from another family altogether. This problem will not be solved until further documentation is located.
