There is a burial 24 Mar 1629 at Stratford On Avon of Mary, daughter to John Burman which is the same person with uncertainty about transcribing the year (ref Ancestry Warwickshire Parish register of Burials). Another version in Ancestry as England Select Births and Christenings includes the birth and death together as 23 Mar 1630 and 24 Mar 1630. It is unclear whether the date was in old/new mode or whether the 1629 date was a transcription error.

Lucy was a widow when their son Hugh was apprenticed in 1713 to Thos Burman of Olde Stratford, dyer (ref fmp, Apprentices of Great Britain, and Ancestry).

From inscriptions in the parish church at Stratford On Avon in R.H.Burman Monograph 1895:
"Lucy, wife of Stephen Burman, daughter of Hugh Walford, of Langley, gent., died 28th September, 1719, aged 59.

In The Burman Chronicle there is a description of some items in the parish church at Stratford On Avon which relate to this Stephen and to his son Hugh:
"The old chained Bible bears a plate on which appears the name (with three others) of Stephen Burman, churchwarden for the parish, with the date 1695. On the south wall of the nave is an imposing tablet to the memory of Hugh Burman, of Shottery, and his family. " The coat of arms which formerly surmounted the memorial have been replaced under the memorial.

'Shakespeare's Church' by J Harvey Bloom, 1902 describes the Bible:
"A chained Bible is preserved in a case at the west end of the church; on the cover is a brass plate which is thus inscribed
William Wright and John Noble Churchwardens for ye Borough

Anno Dom. 1695.

It is very likely that William had been married to an Elizabeth, surname unknown, because there is a similar grant of land from Elizabeth Burman, widow, to the same Stephen Burman, nephew, in 1743, as follows:
Refer the National Archives MS 3389/Acc 1931-034/388047, 11 July 1743:

Proved Worcester 11 Nov. 1708. Receipts for Legacies enclosed."

(Referring to Richard Burman, son of John Burman and Anna Courte) "He had for his near neighbour his cousin Job, who, following in his steps, had settled at the Butts in Tanworth village, and who by marrying Susannah Field initiated the intermingling of the two families, which has continued till the last generation. Having no issue, Job bequeathed part of his property to charitable uses, as appears by a record in Tanworth Church:- "Job Burman's Gift: A messuage or tenement, close, leasowe, meadows, pastures, and lands thereto belonging, in Tanworth, formerly given by Job Burman, bounded on the south side by a lane leading from Danzey Green towards Raven's Green, and on the north and west sides by a farm called Bickerscourt Farm." The area was about eight acres, and the annual proceeds were divisible between the poor of Tanworth, Aspley, and Fickenham. " (ref R.H.Burman Monograph 1895)

There are two entries for William Burman for Hearth Tax Returns in 1662 at Shotterie, hundred of Barlichway, one listed Sr and one listed Jr, which probably refer to this William Burman as William junior.

The following entry in the Guide to Stratford and Warwick References in the Art, Manuscript and Scrapbook Collections (Folger Collection) is presumed to refer to this William as William Burman the elder.
"146: Joseph Woolmer, Stratford-upon-Avon, ironmonger (1), Thomas Woolmer, Stratford-upon-Avon, gent (2), William Burman the elder, Shottery, yeoman & John Burman, Southam [Shottery in another version], yeoman, son & heir apparent of William (3), William Burman the younger, Shottery, yeoman (4), Thomas Perkes, Bearley, gent (trustee) (5), 7 March 1710/11.

Note that the monograph of Mr. R.H.Burman in 1895 combines the families of the two John Burmans but this version is disputed by John Burman in The Burman Chronicles with the additional evidence of the Will of John Burman of Shottery.
