St Mary's Chapel,
Queen Square, Bath, Somerset.
Richard Chapple and Jane Grigg were married on 31st March 1818 at
the Chapel of St Mary in the Parish of Walcot.
It was built as a chapel of ease for the extremely large parish
of Walcot which encompassed both the most expensive
housing in Bath, and the poorest. The Chapel provided a more
exclusive place of worship for the parishioners than
the parish church at St Swithin's. The chapel was demolished by
the Midland Railway Company in 1875 to widen
the road to Green Park, then called Queen Square Station.
