Her name given in Familysearch as Jone Ackland but no source given or provided on asking. There are some records in Findmypast relating to actions in regard to Roman Catholics which may relate to him or to other family members. In Findmypast records, England & Wales, Roman Catholics, is listed (possibly him). Francis Nicks, year 1717, Mortehoe, Devon, in the National Archives, FEC 1/1142, Forfeited Estates Commission; abstracts of estates of Popish recusants. ALSO Francis NIX, address Newton St Cyres, Devon, 1717, otherwise identical. In Findmypast, Devon Wills Index, Francis Nicks, probate year 1721, place: Arlington, Devon, Court of the Archdeaconry of Barnstaple. This is likely to be him. The three known children were baptised Anglican 1696-1701 though he appears to have been Roman Catholic if the person mentioned above.
