"Banns of marriage between Walter Walker and Alice Kirk both of this parish were regularly published in this church. Walter Walker of this parish and Alice Kirk of this parish were married in this church by Banns on 2 March 1772 by me James Pigott Vicar. This marriage was solemnized between us Walter Walker, Alice Kirk in the presence of Eliz Bainbrigge, Wm Pares (?), Ann Bainbrigge (ref fmp Leicestershire marriages image, Wigston Magna). Likely baptism of Alice Kirk (as Alce) 17 Feb 1739 at Humberstone, Leicestershire, dau of William & Jane (ref fmp Leicestershire Baptisms image). There is another possibility at Syston, Leics, but this is further away from Wigston Magna. Burial of Alice Walker 28 Jul 1778 (the same day as the baptism of baby daughter Alice, who died a month later) FROM WHOM ELIZABETH SHADE NEE GRIERSON IS DESCENDED. "Walter Walker of this Parish and Christain [sic] Freer of this Parish married in this church by Banns this tenth day of July in the year 1779 by me D Hiff Vicar of Wistow.
