		Issue of John Dimment and Phillis Tayler
1.		Thomas DEMMENT Bap of Thomas Demment Aug 1730 at Corscombe, Dorset, son of John Demment (ref Ancestry Dorset Baptisms, Marriages & Burials image). "Thomas the son of John Demment August -" (ref image) The Ancestry Select Dorset Parish Registers has no image but a date of 17 Aug 1730. Marriage 20 Apr 1750 at Corscombe, Dorset to Elizabeth MARTIN (ref Ancestry England Select Marriages and Ancestry England & Wales Marriages, index only). "Thomas Dimont & Eliz. Martin 20th April" (1750, Corscombe) (ref Ancestry Dorset CofE Baps, Marriages & Burials, Corscombe). Possible baptisms of Elizabeth Martin 26 Jan 1730 at Sherborne, Dorset, dau of William Martin, or 23 Jan 1733 at Dorchester Holy Trinity, Dorset, dau of John Martin (ref Ancestry Dorset CofE Baps Marriages & Burials). Many of the children were baptised under the names of DIMONT, alias ANDREWS, but no explanation has yet been found. In October 1783, Thomas, Elizabeth and their son Robert came before the courts on the following charge: "Indt. now No. 7, for stealing one Iron ScytheValue 5/-, one Reed Bee pot also Beehive containing 20 (?) of honey Val. 5/- the property of one Thomas Loader". (As near as can be seen.) Thomas was found guilty, Elizabeth and Robert not guilty. Thomas was Indicted for Felony, and ordered to be imprisoned in the House of Correction in this County for Twenty Eight days and then to be discharged. Thomas Loader received compensation for his charges and expenses. (ref Ancestry, Dorset, Quarter Sessions Order Boks, 1625-1905). On 7 Mar 1808 there was a document in the name of Thomas Diment of the type Settlement Examinations, the event place Corscombe, Dorset, giving his age as 80 and his birth place Corscombe; it states that his wife was dead and his family gone from him (ref Ancestry, very hard to read, attached here.). William DIMMENT Bap of William Dimment 13 Aug 1733 at Corscombe, Dorset, son of John Dimment (ref Ancestry England and Wales Christening Index, no image) Marr 21 Apr 1756 at Corscombe, Dorset of William Dimont to Sarah EVERETT (Ancestry England and Wales marriages Index has incorrect date). "The Banns of Marriage between William Dimont and Sarah Everett both of this Parish were duly published in this Church for ye first time on Sunday the fourth Day of April 1756 and the two Sundays immediately following, by Jon. Sherive Rector. William Dimont and Sarah Everett both of this Parish were married in this Church by Banns this twenty first Day of April in ye year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and fifty six by Jon. Sherive Rector." (ref Ancestry, England Select CofE Parish Registers image). No other information found. There is a burial of William Dimont or Andrews 11 Jul 1769 at Corscombe but it is impossible to tell whether it is this one or those on 3rd or 5th generations.
3.		Joseph DIMMENT Bap of Joseph Dimment 29 Nov 1735 at Corscombe, Dorset, son of John Demment (ref Ancestry Dorset Baptisms, Marriages & Burials image, though the index has Demment). "Joseph ye son of John Dimment November ye 29" (ref image) The Ancestry Select Dorset CofE Parish Registers Index incorrectly gives the marriage date as 12 Dec 1756. "The Banns of Marriage between Joseph Dimont of this Parish & Anne Thatcher of the Parish of Beaminster were published in this Church for the first time on Sunday ye twelfth day of December 1756 & on ye two Sundays immediately following by Jon Sherive Minister" (ref Ancestry Dorset CofE Baps Marriages & Burials image). Marr 13 Feb 1757 at Beaminster, Dorset of Joseph Dimond to Anne THATCHER (ref Ancestry Dorset CofE Parish Registers). The marriage record is in the Beaminster Parish: "The Banns of Marriage between Joseph Dimond of the parish of Corscombe and Anne Thatcher of this parish were duly published in this Parish Church on the three several Sundays following viz January 23rd: 30th; February 6th 1757 by me Joseph Stokes Curate. This Marriage was solemnized between Joseph Dimond Anne Thatcher in the presence of us Henry Slade Joanna Slade. Joseph Dimond & Anne Thatcher both of this Parish were married in this Parish Church by Banns this 13th day of February by me Joseph Stokes Curate" (ref Ancestry Dorset England CofE Baptisms Marriages & Burials). No further information found.

"Elizabeth ye daughter of John Dimment November -" (image, date obscure, one Ancestry source calls it 26 and another 4 - looks more like 26). (Another source is Ancestry England and Wales Christening Index, no image). Probable daughter below, unless from another Elizabeth. There are Banns of Marriage between John Diment and Joan Seymore in 1758 but no subsequent marriage found, and these may not be for this John. "The Banns of Marriage between John Diment of this Parish and Joan Seymore of ye Parish of West Chelborough were published in this Church for ye first time on Sunday ye fifteenth Day of January in ye year one Thousand seven Hundred & fifty eight, & on two Sundays immediately following by Joh. 5.		Fanny DEMMINT Bap of Fanny Demmint 23 Mar 1736/37 at Corscombe, Dorset, daughter of William (ref Ancestry Dorset Parish Register image).
6.		Richard DIMMENT Bap of Richard Dimment 15 Jul 1739 at Corscombe, Dorset, son of William (ref Ancestry England & Wales Christening Index & image). Marriage 8 Jul 1759 at Corscombe, Dorset of Richard Dimont to Elizabeth JEY (ref England Select Marriages index). There are some members of the JAY family in Corscombe at relevant times.
