He was born c1785 (ref APT). James died before 1841. There are alternative possible deaths, both at Tisbury. (1) James Cross born 1785, buried 30 Jan 1822 aged 37 at Tisbury (ref fmp, implying that Samuel bc 1827 was not his child; (2) James Cross death reg Jun qtr 1839 at Tisbury, no age given (ref FreeBMD). 4.		James GREENWAY Bap 16 Sep 1787 at Box, Wiltshire, son of Joseph Greenway & Charlotte (ref FamilySearch). Married Harriett, surname unknown born c1794 at Walworth Surrey (ref 1851 census). Marriage not found in major references. In 1817 he was a Confectioner and they lived at Queen's Buildings, Kensington; in 1819 he was a Pastry Cook living at New Brompton, Kensington; in 1871 he was a Confectioner at Brompton, Kensington; in 1823 he was a Pastry Cook living at Queen's Buildings; in 1825 he was a Confectioner at the same place. He lived in the same parish as Maria Greenway who is believed to have married William Edwards (see the Edwards tree) and who would have been a similar age.
