  William HURD

William was a Labourer, according to the apprentice record of his son William.
Marriage on 22 Jul 1680 at Countesthorpe, Leicestershire of William Hurd to Elizabeth ASTON (see below).

The name was given as ASTON in the Leicester Archdeaconry Marriage Licences, above (ref fmp Boyd's Marriage Indexes).
Elizabeth's residence was Foston (see Index to Leicestershire Extracted Church of England Parish Records in Ancestry).
The licence date was 19 July 1680.
The marriage index in FamilySearch, findmypast and Ancestry England Marriages interprets this name as Elesabeth ASSON.

A William Hurd was a Churchwarden at Countesthorpe in 1693, together with Robard Gillam; that William might have been this one or his father or uncle.
However, no other burials found, so likely was this one.

They resided at Countesthorpe, Leicestershire. This is a village about 4 miles south west of Wigston Magna, both being south of the city of Leicester.
Wiliam died 2 Oct 1723 (ref findmypast Leicestershire Wills and Probate records 1500-1939).
