1.   John BYSOUTH
The baptism of John took place on Sep 27th, either in 1761 or 1762, at Reed, Hertfordshire. The IGI indexes it at 1762, but in the original on findmypast, it can be seen to be out of order and is probably a late entry for 1761.

Marr 12 Dec 1793 at Reed to Ann PARKER (ref IGI); both were resident at Reed parish (ref parish rec).

In 1799 the Vicar of Barkway Thomas Bargus undertook a 'census' of the residents of Reed and Barkway. The following family was listed:- Bysouth - John - Labourer Ann his Wife Samuel - 4 George - Infant 4 in Family.

In addition the following family was listed:- Bysouth - John Labourer Ann his wife Mary age 1 his daughter William Bysouth Lodger.

There is another marriage of a John Bysouth at Reed on 7 Jun 1797 of John Bysouth to Ann WRIGHT (ref Ancestry marriages). If this couple is taken to be the John&Ann couple in the 1841 and 1851 census records at Reed, then they were both said to be born c1769-c1771. There is a likely match for this John in the John Bysouth bap 4 Jan 1767 at Barkway, son of Thos Bysouth and Catherine Flack. See below.

No burials have been found for John Bysouth bap 1762 or Ann nee Parker.

There are two marriages in Reed of John Bysouth to Ann (Parker and Wright), in 1793 and 1797, and both are listed in the census below.

This John being the young of the two possible most likely had the later marriage, to Ann WRIGHT at Reed on 7 Jun 1797.
Burial records for them both give John aged 84 in 1852 (i.e. born c1768) and Ann aged 87 in 1854 (i.e. born c1767). This is in accordance with the 1841 and 1851 census records below. There is a possible baptism for Ann Wright on 10 May 1772 at Haydon, Essex, dau of Joseph & Mary Wright, though this would be very late (ref FamilySearch).

Quite possibly many of the children listed under John Bysouth and Ann Parker above should be under the couple here; the only two definite ones known are Mary (due to the 1799 census) and Phoebe (due to the 1841 census).
